Walnut Adjika & Cranberry Sauce for the Christmas Table

Walnut adjika and cranberry sauce recipe

Tired of the same old cranberry sauce? Add an innovative twist to your holiday table with our Walnut Adjika & Cranberry Sauce. The nutty, creamy flavours of the adjika pair beautifully with the tart cranberries, making it the perfect side for turkey or ham.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries

  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

  • Zest of 1 orange

  • 1/4 cup orange juice

  • 2 tbsp Happy Adjika Walnut Adjika

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Cook the Cranberries: In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, orange zest, and orange juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the mixture starts to thicken (about 10 minutes).

  2. Add the Adjika: Stir in the Walnut Adjika and cinnamon (if using). Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the flavours are well combined.

  3. Cool and Store: Remove from heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature. Transfer to a serving dish or an airtight container and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to let the flavours meld.

  4. Serve: Serve chilled or at room temperature alongside roast turkey, ham, or as a spread on holiday sandwiches!

Tip: Make this sauce a day in advance for an even richer flavour.
