Toad in the Hole with Satsebeli Sauce

Toad in the Hole with Satsebeli Sauce

Here’s a meal that screams cosy comfort: Toad in the Hole! This traditional dish of sausages baked in Yorkshire pudding batter gets an irresistible upgrade when paired with our Satsebeli sauce. The rich tomato and pepper flavours of the sauce complement the crispy batter and juicy sausages, making this a meal that’s perfect for a blustery autumn evening.

Ingredients:

  • 6 sausages (pork, beef, or vegetarian)

  • 140g plain flour

  • 4 eggs

  • 200ml milk

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Satsebeli sauce for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Batter: Whisk together the flour, eggs, milk, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Let the batter rest for 20-30 minutes.

  2. Cook the Sausages: Preheat your oven to 220°C. In an ovenproof dish, cook the sausages with a little oil for 10-15 minutes, until they start to brown.

  3. Bake: Pour the batter over the sausages and return the dish to the oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the Yorkshire pudding is golden and risen.

  4. Serve: Cut into generous portions and serve with Satsebeli sauce on the side. The rich, tangy flavours of the sauce elevate the dish, making it even more comforting.

Tip: Try serving with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for the ultimate autumnal feast!
